NEVER Cooperate With The Police November 16, 2010

New Jersey resident Sue Aitken was concerned that her 27-year-old son Brian was suicidal. She dialed 911, but hung up before receiving an answer. The police arrived anyway. By this time Brian was driving to his house. When the police asked him to return, he did.

Despite acknowledging that Brian wasn?t a threat to anyone, the police asked to search his car; Brian consented. They found his handguns ? which he had legally purchased in another state ?locked, unloaded, and stored in the trunk of his car.

Brian was arrested for unlawful gun possession. The trial judge and prosecutor colluded to withhold evidence that Aitken?s actions were covered under a ?moving exception? in state law. Brian was convicted and may spend seven years in prison.

This infuriating story underscores the fact that citizens should never cooperate in any way with police, judges, or prosecutors. They are not our allies, friends, or protectors. Your innocence doesn?t matter to them, and they will not respect your rights.

Let us take back the liberty wherewith Christ has made us free.
